This week marks the beginning of PARCC assessments. That means that a number of my students/groups may have disrupted speech-language schedules due to the time commitment involved in these assessments.
For all students who receive articulation home practice: Don’t forget to practice! Remember that working to improve your speech is like learning a sport: the more you practice, the better you will get. All assignments must be practiced aloud, with an adult. The oral practice is far, far more important than any of the written pieces on the homework assignments. You should be practicing for just a few minutes each day.
I’ve made some updates to the site. The featured topic for the month is social communication. Click on “Communication Club News” for three short articles concerning this topic. As always, if you have any questions, please let me know! I will look forward to meeting with many of you during parent-teacher conferences.
